SKILLS CRISIS
It’s common knowledge that there’s a global shortage of IT professionals and
many of our customers are talking about a skills shortage, especially in the
areas of Business Analysts, Software Testers and Project Managers for
software projects. The question is what to about it. At a personal level,
it’s a great time to invest in developing your own skills and increasing
your value within your own organisation. For managers of teams, it’s more
problematic …to staff, the grass always appears greener somewhere else. What
can be done in a market where jobs outnumber people? Well, as Terry Shubkin,
head of account and service delivery management at Unisys NZ, recently said
…”employers need to develop tailored, progressive career paths within their
companies” (Dom Post, 4 Feb). He’s right! The key, I believe, is to
demonstrate to staff that you are interested in helping them grow. Career
paths coupled with training events are the way to demonstrate and get
commitment.
Please contact
us if there’s a specific training need you’d like to address and we’ll
tailor a plan to suit you and your team.

down obscure behaviour. Visit
